I found a good tool this week to assist in my examination delight at the gym. In the past, I’ve regularly brought along my iPod Touch to watch videos and attend to podcasts, but I could never get the audio from the TVs, given they need tuning in to channels on an FM radio.

Plus, the iPod Touch is rather supportive and pricey, so I was a small endangered about messing it up with sweat, dropping it off the eliptical, etc.

Anyhow, I came opposite a post at Chuck Eglinton’s chuckegg.com called “Great small MP3 Player for Music, Audiobooks & Podcasts $12“.

It was about a device called the SanDisk Sansa, which looks identical to a ride drive. And that’s since it is a ride expostulate with 1 GB of space. But it’s additionally an MP3 player and an FM radio.

I think 1 GB fits about 200 songs or so. When I put together a podcast for GeekCast.fm, it’s mostly usually thirty MB or so for a half hour, so you could fit tons of podcasts on one of these SanDisk Sansa things, too.

I couldn’t hold it when I saw this on TigerDirect for $13 (that was a proxy discount) or so. Not usually does it compromise my FM complaint at the gym, but I don’t have the same regard about violation it, and if it does mangle or get stolen, it’s not a big deal.

Also, there is a container for a microSD card to supplement even some-more songs or podcasts. And it doesn’t need batteries – you assign it by plugging it in to the USB container on your computer. Oh yea, and it’s got a built-in microphone and audio recorder, in box you need assistance remembering to buy your butter, milk, and eggs from the grocery store.

Plus, it is identical in weight to a standard ride drive, so it’s most reduction unwieldy in your slot than an iPod.

I think even at twice the cost it’s still well value it. Note: the low cost was for a refurbished one. I picked of 3 of them – one for me, one for my wife, and an additional for when I lose the initial one.

On a weight loss note, I forsaken a little some-more pounds this week, so it’s a big win of a week.

Starting weight: 225
Last week: 223
This week: 221
